Quick Update

 This blogging thing is going to be a challenge the next couple weeks!  I have so much going on!

Update First:  We were going to leave on our first trip to Wisconsin Saturday 3/16, but decided to put it off until Sunday 3/17.  Poor Bry has too much to do to get ready.  He has to work with the Town of Kremmling, or our neighbor guy, to get the alley plowed so we can get the trailer out of the 2 FEET of snow it's stuck in.  And he has to bust up the ice dams that have formed AGAIN on the roof, so that no leakage occurs while we are gone.  Stupid ice dams!  ARGH!  

I REALLY hope we don't have ice dams at our new place.  But it's Wisconsin.  I was looking at a map of the US that told what the main WEATHER cause of death was in each state.  (If you're interested, Colorado's main causes of weather deaths were lightning and avalanches.)  Wisconsin's main cause was COLD.  So, ya.  There's that.  But I keep saying that I will take cold over hot any day of the week. 

The truck is ready to go.  It has it's new license plate stickers, a new oil change, and a new trailer braking system.  We just have to get the snow out of the way so we can load the pickup bed with the ATV.   The trailer also has it's new license plate with stickers.  It's loaded, so all we have to do is get it unstuck and bring it around front.  We won't take the car this trip.  

Not sure I told you but the appraisal is Friday afternoon 3/15.  It's really a formality at this point, barring any super unusual developments.  All I gotta do is make sure the house is as clean as it's been.  

Carpet cleaning is April 2, and professional house cleaning is April 5.  

Over the next 3 weeks, I have finals for my coaching class, plus I'm starting a new marketing class.  I have an oral presentation, and a written final exam.  They are pouring on the homework until then so we have all we need for the finals.  So, I basically do homework all day every day when I'm not in class.  That will be tricky for when we are on the road!  But it can be done.  So I'm not too worried.  

So, if I skip a day blogging, please understand.  I already skipped a couple times, and now we are adding travel to the mix!  But....the travel and the new home are what this blog is about!  So I must!  I must!  No worries, I can do it!

The Journey Begins

Blog Post for 2/26/24  The For Sale sign went up yesterday.   You see, a blog has to start somewhere.  Perhaps we should have started it with the decision to move.  That would have been, I don't know, several years ago, when we started looking at hobby farms.  Or perhaps when I got covid in 2022 which lead to my heart failure in early 2023, when we really decided to get moving.  Or last summer, 2023, when I was finally able to do things again, and started packing.  I don't know.   I am not sure when we started the whole stuff-purging, packing, and cleaning process in the house.  I have my color journal for this year, started in June 2023, which has packing goals in it for the month of June.  I can't imagine I started any earlier than that, because I had just started back to work the end of April, and it was really kicking my butt, and I couldn't do much more than work, drive, and sleep.  So, maybe the blog should have started then.  I don't know.  But now seems like

Catch Up and Preview

 I didn't write yesterday because it was a crazy hectic day and I was dog tired when it was all over.   I am writing to you from the park down the street from our house.  The cleaning guy banished me while he did his work.  He will be at it for 3-4 hours.  But that's ok.  The place is going to be spic and span for the owners when they take over.  It was really inexpensive to do, so I asked myself, why climb step stools and such, and stress myself out when I could get someone else to do it?  I feel pretty good about it, just saying. Yesterday, I had coaching practice early, before class.  Then during class, I had my final coaching session, where I got tested to see if I followed the protocol.   I was pretty nervous.  No real reason to be, but you know how it goes....seemed like all my practice sessions went great, and I was just waiting for what could go wrong, would go wrong while I was being graded on it.  When you pay a pretty penny for a class, you do not want to flunk it!

Jobs, and the Lack Thereof

 Ya, that last post, I didn't notice that it wasn't updating, and when I went to post it, it was all fouled up.  So I posted an earlier version of it, said "To Heck With It!" and went to bed.  Internet issues will clear up any of this type of issue, going forward.    So, updating you now with anything I missed on the last posting. Today 4/27:  Bryan is unpacking the trailer and working on my dishwasher.  I'm getting office work caught up, and later will be unpacking the boat load of boxes still left to unpack in the kitchen.   Yesterday 4/26:  Bryan had an interview with Super One, the grocery here in Park Falls.  It went well.  The only issue with that job is that insurance doesn't start until the 6 month mark.  I can probably get away with being off of insurance that long, but Bryan can't.  So we will see.  He has also had a phone interview with Kwik Trip.  Issues with that are, there's no openings in Park Falls, so Bryan would have to drive an hour.
