The buyer saw the condition of the house on that walk-through on Monday, and they sort of panicked.  Of course it was a flying flipping mess!  Everything was packed really, it's just that it was disorganized and messy, and we still had a bunch of cardboard boxes and packing material.

We got out at 9:30 on Wednesday 4/10.  Half hour out of Kremmling, the tread came off of one of our trailer tires, and took the fender with it.  I will do a blog post on just that, for your reading enjoyment!  We did have a nice dinner with Ron, Debra, Gina, Anthony, and Ruby!

Thursday April 11:  We got a late start, driving all day.  I had two appointments:  One, was the doctor appointment where she would be signing Bryan's Family Leave paperwork.  It was at 1:30 pm MST.  A little hard to figure out when you are traveling across Nebraska and that darn line for Central Time is "somewhere!"  But we figured it out and were able to talk to the doctor.  We don't have the packet of documents yet. but will forward them to her as soon as we get them.  She's all for the family leave under the circumstances.  It will preserve our health insurance until Bryan's Kroger transfer goes through.

The second appointment was actually the beginning of my coaching marketing class at 6pm MST.  We were in Kearny Nebraska by then, so it was actually 7pm.  We wanted to get into a hotel room so I could effectively attend.  But the big problem was, the hotel rooms were all sold out!  There was some big convention, with a lot of young people in suits and ties.  Never did figure out what it was, but the place was overrun with a million ka-gillion people.  We finally cram-jammed ourselves into a tiny room at Motel 6, about 20 minutes before class started.  I got set up for it, and Bryan did all the luggage unloading and running around getting our supper, and taking care of Poor Kittie.  It was stress inducing, to say the least.

Friday April 12:  We drove all day, and I mean, ALL DAY.  We got up at 4:30am and got on the road ASAP, getting into Phillips at 9:30pm.  We got through Nebraska.  Iowa sucked!  Combo bumpy road + maniacal wind + being super tired already + crapload of traffic = total exhaustion.  We were down to 40 mph at some points.  Minnesota was a little better because the roads are in better shape, but it was still jam-packed with traffic and super windy.  Wisconsin was basically dark, hahaha, but we did see a couple of deer, that we miraculously did not hit.  We were BEAT!  We were both upper-body-sore from fighting the wind so hard.  Had a late night snack at A&W, which was surprisingly still open, and hit the sack.  Oh, and we kind-of got lost a couple times, another blog posting for another day.

Saturday April 13:  We played catch-up.  I've been in the hotel room all morning, catching up emails, setting appointments for looking at houses, doing a pre-qual mortgage application, doing homework, and generally getting my act together.  Bryan went out to see if he could talk to the grocery store manager, which he did.  He hit the post office and got our first mail!  He got a place to store the big cargo trailer.  He dropped off the trailer, and a good share of what was in the car and pickup cab, then came back for me.  We went to lunch, and drove around some.  After lunch, we drove up to Park Falls to swing by the houses on our site-seeing list for Monday.  Then we had dinner at a hamburger bar in Phillips and came back for an early bed time.

Today (4/14, Happy Birthday Allen!), we were going to run down to Tomah to unload the pickup bed into our storage, but decided against it.  We had an appointment at 4:30 today to look at a house that had a limited amount of appointment times.  Round trip to Tomah is 6 hours, plus an hour or two of unloading, and we weren't sure we could pull that off and make it back in time.  So Tomah will have to wait until Tuesday.  Instead, we slept in til almost 7am!  It was glorious!  We went down to the park in Phillips and walked and sat by the lake.  It's a beautiful day here!  Then we went grocery shopping for some lunch and snack items, and have come back here to do "office work."

The camper we had our sights set on is not going to work.  The dealer discovered that the entire back wall of the unit is rotted out.  So we said "No Thank You!".  Bryan is frantically looking for another one while I catch this blog up.

We have the one house to tour tonight, then dinner in Park Falls, then back home to bed.  Tomorrow we will be touring all the other homes for sale in Park Falls.  We will let you know how that goes.
