The First Showing!

Image
I of course am writing this only a couple hours after the showing went down, so I have no idea how it went.  They were only here half an hour.  I know this because of something stupid that happened, of course.  (I learned later in the day, that it's a no.  The people thought it was more work than they want to do.)  I got Poor Kitty packed up in a box instead of that kennel and I took him to the car.  It was one of those boxes Bryan got at City Market, with the tabs that tuck in, and you don't necessarily need to tape.  But I know Kitty!  So I taped the box shut, and I thought I did a pretty good job of it.  Mind you, I did cut 4 triangular holes for air.  Poor guy cried and cried, and I talked to him the whole way.  I sure hated to do it, and felt so sorry for him.   I gathered up my purse and my keys, locked up and went out the door, basically at 6:40am, enough time for the car to warm up somewhat, it being -2 degrees F.  Once the car was warm and the windows clear, I drove o

The House is Officially Listed!

The house is listed!   https://www.remax.com/co/kremmling/home-details/1012-kinsey-ave-kremmling-co-80459/3326667984610959982/M00000115/24-163 Hallelujah!  This was the goal of months and months of planning, working, sweating, crying, bleeding, cleaning, worrying, and general discontent! And while I was writing this blog, we got our first showing on Saturday March 2!  Whoot!  Then our second came in for 7am tomorrow morning!  We are on a roll!   In my preliminary blog, I discussed WHEN I should have started to blog.  That's basically how long we have been packing and cleaning and fixing.  It feels good to finally be done with all of that.  I guess I would call that Phase I.   Phase II, now we wait.  And every day I get up, by 9:00am, I need to have the house show-ready.  Make sure the beds are made.  Do the kitchen work.  Check that the floors are clean.  Move our stuff out of the bathroom and square it away.  Put away the laptops.  Hide the living room blankets and pillows.  Basi

Considering the Cat

Poor Georgie doesn't know what's coming to him.  This likely doesn't seem like a big deal, but trying to figure out what to do with the kitty through all of this transition, has been somewhat stressful.   He's an indoor kitty.  Since we brought him home, he has never left the house.     We haven't had a whole lot of visitors (because we have no life, and nobody wants to brave the roads and the traffic to come see us, but I digress), poor Georgie isn't used to having strangers in the house.  It's been a very rude awakening for him lately, because there's been all kinds of people here in the past couple weeks.   Allen and Linda and Shawn came to help pack.  Poor Kitty accidently came around the hall corner and met Shawn, and he freaked out and flew out of the room, bonking his head on the door frame, and hid in Bryan's bedroom the rest of the day. Since then, people have come and gone.  The photographer was here, and then the real estate agent and her

The Journey Begins

Blog Post for 2/26/24  The For Sale sign went up yesterday.   You see, a blog has to start somewhere.  Perhaps we should have started it with the decision to move.  That would have been, I don't know, several years ago, when we started looking at hobby farms.  Or perhaps when I got covid in 2022 which lead to my heart failure in early 2023, when we really decided to get moving.  Or last summer, 2023, when I was finally able to do things again, and started packing.  I don't know.   I am not sure when we started the whole stuff-purging, packing, and cleaning process in the house.  I have my color journal for this year, started in June 2023, which has packing goals in it for the month of June.  I can't imagine I started any earlier than that, because I had just started back to work the end of April, and it was really kicking my butt, and I couldn't do much more than work, drive, and sleep.  So, maybe the blog should have started then.  I don't know.  But now seems like
