Jobs, and the Lack Thereof

Ya, that last post, I didn't notice that it wasn't updating, and when I went to post it, it was all fouled up.  So I posted an earlier version of it, said "To Heck With It!" and went to bed.  Internet issues will clear up any of this type of issue, going forward.    So, updating you now with anything I missed on the last posting. Today 4/27:  Bryan is unpacking the trailer and working on my dishwasher.  I'm getting office work caught up, and later will be unpacking the boat load of boxes still left to unpack in the kitchen.   Yesterday 4/26:  Bryan had an interview with Super One, the grocery here in Park Falls.  It went well.  The only issue with that job is that insurance doesn't start until the 6 month mark.  I can probably get away with being off of insurance that long, but Bryan can't.  So we will see.  He has also had a phone interview with Kwik Trip.  Issues with that are, there's no openings in Park Falls, so Bryan would have to drive an hour.

Catch Up On The Trip Out, Namely the Tires

First of all, today's update.  Bryan bought his lawn tractor on Monday, and he went and got it Tuesday.  He's thrilled!  It's a John Deere 300x.  He's always wanted a yard tractor, even when we had a yard that would not support it.  He's so happy that he could get one finally.  Every time he talks about it, he smiles big.  It's so cute to watch him.   Had I known it would make him so happy, I would have made sure he got one long before now.   He got a leaf picker-upper.  Not the one he wanted, but this one will suffice until he gets his leaf sucking apparatus.  We have a lot of leaves left in on the ground, and the under side of the deck is literally packed full of them.  So, we have to suck those leaves out somehow.  Our next trip to Tomah will involve finding our rake, that's for sure.  (Update:  After running the tractor for a while, suddenly it would not start.  Bryan tried everything.  He even thought he needed to charge the battery.  Battery charger w

Many Many Updates! 4/15 through 4/22

It is so hard to write in the blog when there's so much to do, and the internet is uncooperative! Please read, comment, and share! So I thought I would update you on this one posting, and hope I can keep it going forward!  (PS, Bryan has a lot of pictures that I don't have yet, so I will be going back and adding those in as I go.  Thanks for your understanding!) Monday, April 15:  We looked at houses all morning.  I will blog about that.  We found one we liked among the batch (I think we looked at 6 places altogether?)  Called the recommended mortgage lender, and she shot us down.  Bryan's transfer is not set yet, and I don't have a job.  So they said we had to wait.  We had enough cash to buy the place outright, but that would have left us with ZERO for any of the things we needed for the house (washer/dryer, etc.) or any cash to live on until we got our jobs solidified.  So it was back to looking for a camper.   However, the realtor called us back.  The seller on the

Wow, I have a lot of entries to make up!

But I promise to get those done in the next couple days.  We are safely in Phillips Wisconsin!  It's been a difficult, what, WEEK?  But we are here.  Not dead.  Vehicles in tact.  Still married, hahaha.  Poor Kittie is not dead.  He's probably really mad, but he's not dead.  House safely signed over and the proceeds are in the bank account.  It all happened!  Finally!   So bear with me, and I will get you updated on all the deets!

Yay! The conundrum of the two trailers is solved!

Image
We didn't know what to do with the fact that we had two trailers that needed to be gone from the house when we close.  We used to tow the little trailer around with the Hyundai or the old Escape.  But New Escape doesn't have a hitch.  We could not think of anyone to ask to haul the little trailer clear to Wisconsin.   But the issue is resolved!  The 5x7 trailer is safely in storage at Taylor Rental in Lakewood.  Bryan has to come back in June for some medical appointments, so we will be able to pick it up then.  We took it down there today, and Allen and Linda gave us a nice going-away brunch. I am studying tonight for my final exam, and Bryan has loaded up the moped.   My old boss wants the moped, so we are giving it to him.  He is giving me my chair.  So Bryan will swap the moped with the chair tomorrow early.  Then he has an appointment with his Occupational Therapist, then drop off some thank you notes at City Market, and have coffee with one of his coworkers.  He should be

A Tail of Three Fridges (well, really two fridges and a freezer)

The kitchen refrigerator. I thought that puppy would be an easy, couple-minute job, that I could just do and get over with.   There again, I am dealing with THREE refrigeration units.  The main Dutch door, lower freezer drawer Frigidaire unit in the kitchen, the old fridge in the laundry room, and the up-right freezer in the laundry room.   I commenced by cleaning out all the old stuff that I wasn't taking.  I started with a near-empty kitchen fridge because I anticipated this venture, and got rid of expired salad dressings etc. all along.  Plus we are trying not to get too many groceries because of this move.  We don't really want to throw a lot of food away.  The process didn't take long.  Dumped half bottles of this and that down the sink, plus ran Bryan's half jars of pickles through the disposal.  In about 15 minutes, I had it narrowed down to just what we could use or would take with us.   Secondly, I thought I would move items from old fridge to kitchen fridge.

Catch Up and Preview

I didn't write yesterday because it was a crazy hectic day and I was dog tired when it was all over.   I am writing to you from the park down the street from our house.  The cleaning guy banished me while he did his work.  He will be at it for 3-4 hours.  But that's ok.  The place is going to be spic and span for the owners when they take over.  It was really inexpensive to do, so I asked myself, why climb step stools and such, and stress myself out when I could get someone else to do it?  I feel pretty good about it, just saying. Yesterday, I had coaching practice early, before class.  Then during class, I had my final coaching session, where I got tested to see if I followed the protocol.   I was pretty nervous.  No real reason to be, but you know how it goes....seemed like all my practice sessions went great, and I was just waiting for what could go wrong, would go wrong while I was being graded on it.  When you pay a pretty penny for a class, you do not want to flunk it!

Another Day, and the time is now whipping past

Ha I wrote this yesterday and never went back to post it!  Ah, moving across country brain mixes with Covid brain, and I'm toast! Bryan is working on his leave of absence paperwork.  Some would argue that it should have been done long ago, but this is Bryan we are talking about.  At least it's going out now.  I don't think he thought of it until recently.   I am still working with my Quickbooks client, and now I have an interview on Thursday for an additional client for bookkeeping.  Studying hard for finals that happen right when we close.   Oh, and by the way, all the stuff that was frozen in the ground (firepit, lawn swing, Adirondack chairs) is on the truck!  Bryan worked them by shoving the 2 wheel dolly under them and prying it up.    Stuff is moved out of the bedrooms and we will be ready for carpet cleaning today.  I just got done vacuuming the heck out of it all.    I'm running the washer and dryer non stop today to wash all the bedding and stuff, so we don'

We are back together again! And we are craving real food!

Yes, Bryan made it home around 1pm yesterday.   We both had a nice afternoon on the couch watching TV and had frozen dinners.  Talked to one of the kids on the phone. We had "Easter Breakfast" this morning at the Moose CafĂ© here in town.   That was the extent of our Easter.   Fuel was more expensive this trip.  Not sure why, perhaps the weather.  Bryan said it was super windy.  And also because of the side trip up to Phillips to visit the grocery store where Bryan might be working.  That was an added 3 hours. He had a lot of stuff rattle loose on this trip.  My armoire rattled completely apart.  The meat smoker lost its chimney and rattled apart.  The bed liner in the pickup rattled apart.  He says the ignition in the truck is somewhat rattled.  His brakes got stuck on, on the trailer at one point.  I sure hope this whole rig stays together for two more trips (one with the big trailer, and then Bryan has to come back for the little trailer.) He experienced snow for a lot of
